Installation Guide For Occupancy Sensor – 1 L-PS041

INTRODUCTION

The 1L-PS041 Occupancy Sensor enhances energy efficiency and convenience by automatically detecting motion and controlling connected lighting or devices. Using infrared technology, it responds to temperature changes caused by movement within its detection range, making it ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Proper installation and setup ensure optimal performance and reliability.

INSTALLATION ADVICE

The occupancy sensor responds to changes in temperature; therefore, please follow these precautions to ensure proper operation:

  • Avoid reflective surfaces: Do not point the detector towards mirrors or other highly reflective objects.
  • Keep away from heat sources: Do not install the detector near heating vents, air conditioning units, or light sources.
  • Avoid moving objects: Do not position the detector towards curtains, tall plants, or other objects that may move in the wind.

CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS

Occupancy Sensor installation

Occupancy Sensor installation

  1. Remove the upper cover: Rotate it counterclockwise as shown in the diagram.
  2. Connect power and load: Follow the provided connection-wire diagram to ensure correct wiring.
  3. Secure the bottom part: Fix it in place using the provided screws.
  4. Reinstall the upper cover: Once secured, switch on the power and proceed with testing.

TESTING PROCEDURE

  1. Initial Setup:
    Occupancy Sensor knob settings

    Occupancy Sensor knob settings

    • Set the LUX knob to maximum (Sun position).
    • Set the TIME knob to minimum (10 seconds).
    • Set the SENS knob to maximum (+ position).
  2. Power On & Warm-Up:
    • Switch on the power. The sensor and connected lamp will remain off initially.
    • After a 30-second warm-up, the sensor becomes operational.
    • If motion is detected, the lamp will turn on. When no further motion is detected, the load will switch off after 10±3 seconds.
  3. Ambient Light Testing:
    • Turn the LUX knob to the minimum setting (3 LUX).
    • If ambient light is above 3 LUX, the sensor will not activate.
    • If ambient light is below 3 LUX (darkness), the sensor will function normally.

Note: When testing in daylight, ensure the LUX knob is set to Sun; otherwise, the sensor lamp will not function.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

1. The load does not work:

  • Verify that the power and load connections are correct.
  • Check if the load itself is functioning properly.
  • Ensure that the working light settings match the ambient light conditions.

2. Poor sensitivity:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the detector’s signal.
  • Check if the ambient temperature is too high.
  • Confirm that the induction signal source is within the detection field.
  • Verify that the installation height follows the specified guidelines.
  • Ensure the movement orientation is aligned with the sensor’s detection range.

3. The sensor does not turn off the load automatically:

  • Check for continuous motion signals in the detection area.
  • Ensure the time delay is not set to the maximum position.
  • Confirm the power supply matches the sensor’s specifications.

SAFETY WARNINGS

Danger: Risk of electric shock!

  • The sensor must be installed by a professional electrician.
  • Always disconnect the power source before installation or maintenance.
  • Cover or shield any adjacent live components.
  • Ensure the device cannot be switched on during installation.
  • Double-check that the power supply is completely disconnected before proceeding.

By following this guide, you can ensure the correct and safe installation of the 1L-PS041 Occupancy Sensor.
