360° Ceiling Mount Occupancy Sensor

Model No. 1L-PS041

The 1L-PS041 – 360° Ceiling Mount Occupancy Sensor is an advanced, fully automatic dual-function controller designed for indoor security and courtesy lighting. Capable of managing up to 2000W, it enhances energy efficiency through intelligent operation. Featuring a dual-sensor system, the sensor’s built-in passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor activates the lighting when motion is detected in its coverage area during the night. In daylight, the integrated photocell sensor automatically deactivates the lights to conserve energy. This combination of high sensitivity and smart circuitry makes it an effective, reliable lighting control solution.

Applications of Occupancy Sensors:

  1. Office Buildings – Automates lighting and HVAC systems in workspaces, conference rooms, and restrooms to enhance energy efficiency.
  2. Residential Homes – Controls lights, fans, and appliances in rooms, hallways, and garages for convenience and power savings.
  3. Retail Stores & Shopping Malls – Activates lighting in specific areas based on customer movement, improving shopping experiences while reducing costs.
  4. Parking Lots & Garages – Provides motion-based lighting to enhance security and reduce energy consumption in low-traffic areas.
  5. Hospitals & Healthcare Facilities – Ensures lights and ventilation systems operate only when rooms are occupied, reducing manual operation.
  6. Educational Institutions – Regulates lighting in classrooms, libraries, and auditoriums, ensuring lights are off when not in use.
  7. Hotels & Hospitality Industry – Enhances guest experience by automating room lighting, air conditioning, and entertainment systems.
  8. Public Restrooms – Activates lights and exhaust fans when occupied, promoting hygiene and energy conservation.
  9. Factories & Warehouses – Controls high-power industrial lighting and HVAC systems based on worker presence to cut costs.
  10. Security & Surveillance – Works with security systems to detect unauthorized movement and trigger alarms or cameras.

Test Procedure:

  1. Turn the LUX knob clockwise to the maximum (sun) position. Rotate the TIME knob counterclockwise to the minimum (10s). Set the SENS knob to the maximum (+).

  2. Switch on the power. Initially, the sensor and the connected lamp will not respond. After a 30-second warm-up, the sensor will begin operating. When the sensor detects motion, the lamp will turn on. If no further motion is detected, the lamp will turn off within 10s ± 3s.
  3. Turn the LUX knob counterclockwise to the minimum (3) position. If the ambient light exceeds 3LUX, the sensor will not activate, and the lamp will remain off. If the ambient light is less than 3LUX (darkness), the sensor will activate. With no further motion detection, the sensor will stop working, and the lamp will turn off within 10s ± 3s.

Note: When testing in daylight, ensure the LUX knob is set to the “sun” position, or the sensor may not activate the lamp.

Troubleshooting and Solutions:

Load Not Functioning:

  • Ensure the power source and load are connected correctly.
  • Check if the load is operational.
  • Adjust the working light settings to match ambient light conditions.

Weak Sensitivity:

  • Remove any obstacles blocking the sensor’s signal reception.
  • Reduce the ambient temperature if it is too high.
  • Make sure the detection field includes the induction signal source.
  • Install the sensor at the recommended height as per the instructions.
  • Move in the correct direction for optimal detection.

Sensor Fails to Turn Off the Load Automatically:

  • Check for continuous signals in the detection field.
  • Adjust the time delay setting if it is at the maximum.
  • Verify that the power supply matches the specified requirements.

Installation Tips 1L-PS041 360° Ceiling Mount Occupancy Sensor:

Since the detector reacts to temperature changes, avoid the following:

  • Do not point the detector towards highly reflective surfaces, such as mirrors.
  • Avoid installing the detector near heat sources, like heating vents, air conditioning units, or lights.
  • Do not direct the detector towards objects that may move with the wind, such as curtains or tall plants.
